I've done some tests on impacts. You really have to hit properly and on the shoulder cap for this pad to really protect you. Crashing into the boards sideways/shoulder-first for example will lead to the pad 'collapsing' into itself in which the shoulder cap needs to be the main point of contact. Not very impressed. The impact doesn't distribute well.
I'm 6 feet tall wearing a large and I feel like they come down too far. I think if they were shorter it wouldn't bunch up when I sit on the bench. The fact that there is really no fabric to break in worries me that they will just remain like this for the life of the product but I'll probably put them in the wash machine anyway to soften everything up. Maybe I need a medium? Or maybe I'm being a gear ***** and should just make due with what I have.
