They don't run big, but what I'm guessing you're feeling is that they're so mobile and light that they move around too much. The segmented vest-like design also plays a big role in that. You can even argue that they run smaller since they're shorter than other pads.
That was me! Some of my concerns were a lack of collarbone protection since I was coming back from a bad break. It's been 7 months so decided to give them a try.

My main issue is that I have a gap from top of shoulder to bottom of the pad. I can put my hand under it and the pads feel loose.

Not trying to start an argument but the marketing feature " they don't absorb water" is flawed. All that water ends up in your pants, shins, and skates

I'm still undecided on these. My Reebok 7k mediums just fit so darn perfect and have better protection
