I don't know why I didn't think of this, but has no one watched skills competitions at lower levels? NHLers can go sub 14 seconds in the lap race. Kids just can't do that. From what I remember the fastest kids generally skated just sub 15.

You guys can say whatever you want about how it's what the NHLers can do at high speeds that sets them apart, which is true, but the fact is that bantam, midget level guys are not going to touch any NHLer in a lap around the rink.
