-Only so many can fit in his salary on their team. Its nice to say he should sign with team X but alot of teams can't fit him in due to the players they've already committed to
-Chance to play in the biggest hockey hotbed. I don't know Getzlaf personally but some players do like the pressure
-Toronto is on the upswing (everybody bashes them now but Chicago and LA also weren't winning anything a few short seasons before they won their cups)
-He has a previous relatiionship with all of our management
Not saying that the Leafs will get Getzlaf but there is lots of reasons why it could happen.
