Perhaps, although when you compare Theodore with Derrick Pouliot in terms of their respective skill sets and how Pouliot was ranked last year .... it's probably a fair question to ask. It's not unusual at all to have a defender pulled up the rankings because they're piling up points largely on account of the players around them. Siemens and Pouliot are IMO two recent examples.

As for Theodore, some people will put him in the first round because his skating and puck movement skills are top-notch, but others will rank him down substantially because he has all the grit of a wet kleenex and plays a very tepid uninvolved game in his own zone.
