I haven't had issues with the idea of a movie being too heavy emotionally (except maybe Errol Morris' Gates of Heaven, because I'm very sensitive to the idea of pets dying). I have put things off that I feel will be difficult to get through for other reasons, like pacing.

I think The White Ribbon is fantastic, but then again, I've loved everything by Haneke that I've seen.
