Brisebois was a very good #3-4 who was forced into a top pair role because we didn't have anybody better at the time. He was a smart, skilled playeer but more in the current PMD mold, 15-20 years ago d-men had to be big and tough with a mean streak unless they were Ray Bourque or Paul Coffey. Guys like Derian Hatcher and Kyle Mclaren were good players who couldn't keep up with the current NHL pace.

Brisebois was often made the scapegoat because he was a long time member and a loacl guy, a bit like Darche...though Breezer had a bigger role.
