Losing a year in the infancy of a career can have a major impact on future development and growth. History is littered with promising prospects derailed by injury.
And as I said it depend on the nature of the injury. reduce mobility vision etc... is usually the culprit not the time off. If the player comes back 100% the time off does not affect his progress.
