I believe people over emphasize the time off to injuries. Sports medicine has progressed greatly the last 20 years, for detecting and treating injuries. Case in point, look at the rash of prospect with injuries drafted last year.

What I'm trying to say here is that although he had to catch up to others, it did not affect his potential. Same with various other prospect (Reilly comes to mind)
