Richards, Gainey, Feaster rumours!!

There may be some logic to the rumours that Jay Feaster felt some pressure to sign Richards, (according to the Journal de Montreal). Richards has become the 'complete' franchise player which Tampa Bay could not afford to lose, so if you are a competing GM (Gainey) you show a big time interest to obtain this franchise player, either through a trade or to sign as a RFA, forcing Feaster to overpay Richards, and crown him the franchise player.
Now this is where it gets very interesting, now that Tampa Bay has been forced to overpay Richards and St Louis, they cannot go into next season with 3 forwards taking up half the cap space, so they are in stuck in a corner with only one way out, move one of the three players.
Richards won't be going anywhere, St Louis is not tradeable with his 5 years remaing at 5.25 million, no GM in their right mind would take on this contract for a 31 year old who had one outstanding season, so maybe a GM, (like Gainey) put Feaster in this predicament, forcing Tampa to make a move, net result, Lecavalier is the most tradeable asset. here's a possibility,

to Tampa- Ryder, Abeshier, Markov, (4.65 million in salary)
to Montreal- Lecavalier (6.25 salary)

This is only an increase of 1.6 million in cap space for Montreal, still enough room to sign a replacement for Markov, such as Ed Jovanovski.

Aren't rumour boards fun
