I'm not sure who held the record prior to Gatherum. It's interesting that
Hackett still doesn't have an NHL shutout to his name (his shutout streak started in relief). He also didn't allow a goal in his next three appearances (all in relief)
In my mind getting the shutout minutes in relief diminishes the accomplishment in respect to the thread subject title. Thats just me though. I'd give it to the guy who actually started and played a complete game(s).
