There are things that people want to see Ristolainen improve, but overall he's a pro friendly prospect and in some areas he's definitely better than Määttä. The difference is notable when you compare their physical tools. Ristolainen is taller, has a longer wingspan and is a stronger skater. He’s a better hitter and has a notable physical presence on the ice. He can take opponents to the boards, separate them from the puck and win a good number of battles. He’s an old school lumberjack, but also capable of moving the puck under pressure and going end-to-end when the opportunity presents itself. He’s a unique talent in Finnish hockey.
