I don't mean to come off as condescending but you shouldn't get your main info from here. Its great as a jumping off point and to get the latest but the snippets don't give the full story.
The desertification stuff was covered last week by writers. The PA has no intention of playing without a union. It is a negotiation tool and not a proposal for the future landscape. I wouldn't focus on how it threatens player rights as much as it really threatens businesses (teams) legally. It simply forces the issue and puts leverage on the player side. Theoretically the league could be forced to open doors and start paying players.
