I have a feeling this is going to end up exactly the same as the last lockout.

Eventually, the players are going to crack due to division within their ranks (it's much harder to keep 600+ people on the same page than 30) - which appears to have already started to happen (see Roman Hamrlik).

The players are going to get a worse deal than what they were offered a month ago, and Fehr will get axed just like Goodenow did.

The NHL centralizing contracts won't happen - even if it didn't get torn apart on anti-trust grounds, it would destroy the on-ice product and the NHL
would lose a lot of players to Europe and Russia.

Likewise, decertifying the union would be a pyrrhic victory for the players, as they could kiss guaranteed contracts, medical benefits and pensions goodbye.

It annoys me that we've already lost 2 months over what amounts to a battle that, in the end, is going to leave both sides worse off.
