There are many here who love Eakins and wanted him to run the Leafs.

I'm on the fence with him, but he can only ice the assets given, and when the boss goes out and picks up a couple veterans you know what is expected. Aucoin is the only Marlie in the top 20. Also the only one in the top 30. Kadri is 51st., but just 3 points from top 20.

Just looking at the west:

Looking like quite a bit of parity in the AHL. 12th. place Chicago 3 points behind 6th. place Lake Erie.

Oklahoma went with mostly youngsters this year and didn't start out well, but going with the kids they are now in 4th., 3rd. if you go with just points. I read earlier this year they knew they'd have some issues but wanted to make sure they got playing time for their prospects and kind of bit the bullet. Looks like it might be paying off ... of course doesn't hurt to be able to put out Schultz, Eberle, Hall, RNH and does it matter?

Two different strategies, going for the win, by bringing in top veterans, or going for development by playing the kids.

Eakins only has partial control of what he puts on the ice ... you don't show up the boss and last long.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.
