I would try not to over think it from the point. Get the shot off as quick as possible, keep it a few inches off the ice, and either aim for the net or just to the side if your guys are good enough for a tip.
For screens, the goalie will have enough of a hard time seeing the puck from the point with normal traffic. If you try and use the opposing forward as a screen, it's much more likely to be a turnover which is bad. A forward using a D-man for a screen is a good thing, a D-man using a forward as a screen can be trouble.
