Well lets see, both were equal on even strength this year. Phaneuf had 8 more points on the PP this year... And also played about a minute more on the PP every night.
The year before, Dion missed some games, but even by PPG calculations, he was quite a bit behind Kronwall on even strength, and slightly ahead of him on the PP... Having played 1:20 more PER GAME.
The year before that, Kronwall missed nearly half the season. Using the same PPG calculations, Kronwall was slightly under Dion in even strength scoring, and 3 points behind in PP scoring... When Dion was playing 1:30 more PER GAME.
So pretty easy to see Kronwall is better on even strength, whereas Dion gets more points on the PP because he gets more time.
