Since Brian Burke has taken over as GM of the Toronto Maple leafs.

Only 3 teams have failed to make the playoffs.
The aforementioned Toronto Maple Leafs
The New York Islanders
The Edmonton Oilers

Of these teams only one has not been able to improve their prospect pool rankings - it should be pretty apparent what team that is -

If you compare this team to the other 29 in NHL its alarmingly clear that no team has been as MISMANAGED during that time span as the Toronto Maple Leafs have by Brian Burke.

Its even debatable if we are better off today than we were under JFJ. Who's rein could be one of the worst in this franchises history.

No improvement in the standings
No improvement in the prospect pool
While the 29 other teams all show signs of improvement in either category.

[Fans] see the names Kessel/Phaneuf - Realists see past their relative star-power - they see a **** roster - they see a prospect pool that is leaps and bounds behind where it should be (9 seasons of missing the playoffs - 2 of the last 4 years as a lottery pick team - 4 straight seasons picking bottom 10)

Lets move the debate from Burke vs JFJ ... lets start looking at the teams that still exist - the ones we actually compete against.
