Unless the stupid sign-and-trade of the NBA becomes in vogue here too, where we'd at least get compensation (draft picks) and he'd be allowed to get 7 from Winnipeg since they'd have his rights before signing him technically.
I like that system. It would kill the Parise/Kovalchuk/Suter/Luongo/etc contracts.
