The biggest issue people had with that jersey was always the logo. There were just too many shapes and angles going on, resulting in distracting visual clutter.
Fix the logo (meaning, replace it with something that looks remotely like a hockey crest) and that's a decent design with bonus points for creativity and cultural identity.
