Aulie is set to return to action for the Crunch on Friday night with Hamilton visits. Aulie has been out since Oct. 27 when a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton shot crashed into his ankle and broke it. He recently got medical clearance to return, but admits that the cobwebs accumulated during six weeks off will be difficult to quickly dust away.

"The game situations are tough to replicate in practice,'' Aulie said after practice on Thursday. "That's part of being injured, the battle back. You can't wait to get back out there.''

Forward Connolly got a scare against Connecticut on Saturday. He took a hit to the chest and was initially diagnosed with a chipped sternum. A second X-ray, done in Syracuse, identified the problem as a much less serious, but still painful, contusion.

Connolly missed Sunday's game at Binghamton, but skated through a full-contact practice on Thursday. He is considered day-to-day.

"It's painful, but it's not an injury right now,'' Connolly said. "It's not going to get any worse. It will slowly get better.''
