If he signs an NHL contract, it's null.
If he signs any other pro contract, he has 18 months to start using the scholarship.
Even if he doesn't get his school paid for, at least he doesn't have to get himself into crushing debt to go to a great school since it's not a ruthless business like in the states.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.
I agree, US Colleges should be giving scholarships to only US players. Let everyone else develope in their own countries system.
