We have no reason to assume he wants to break the bank. Given Avs history with RFAs there is a bigger chance they want to underpay him.
I'm not saying he didn't earn it, I'm saying it's a pretty small sample to be paying someone more than $3.5M for example, which is what I'm basing my argument on. I believe that's where his value is, or somewhere close to that. I have to believe that since he isn't signed and we now have this development happening, that he wants much more than that.

that the negotiations between he and the team were close and that it's between $3M and $4M and he signed a contract in Russia for 2 years for somewhere within those parameters and he even called the Avs ahead of time to tell them he was gonna do it. I'm just saying it's unlikely. This just seems so much like trying to force the Avs to pay him what HE and HIS AGENT feels he is worth and that kind of situation will not end well for him in Colorado.
