NHL teams were playing long seasons for a chance to play for the Stanley Cup. For the most part it was an exhibition to them. To draw too much inference on those results to the strength of the Soviet league at that time would be misleading to say the least.
You often post on soviet players surely you understand the difference?
You dont think the NHL-teams felt like winning these games too, that they felt the need to put the soviets in their place? Why is it for sure that they did not go full throttle just becouse they were in the middle of a season? There are many "for sure's" in your posts here that i dont see as very sure at all.
Also, the soviets came over and played on small rinks which of course made it harder for them.
