Frolov was the prototypical King player forced to play a role he wasn't good enough for. "We can't manage to bring in anybody else better than you so you're going to be our #1 LW for years". The Kings were notorious for doing this in the dark ages after Gretzky. It's fitting Armstrong is in the picture with Frolov because you have a grinder 3rd or 4th line center on most NHL teams who got quality minutes on the PP simply because he worked hard. The guy lacked skill, same as Frolov, to do the job the coach forced him to do because the GM could not find better players. Where would Armstrong or Frolov fit on today's team if you could go back to their prime year of success? And if you notice neither of those guys did squat in the NHL after the Kings. On the Kings they were main players, important pieces of the puzzle and after the Kings no other NHL team thought them worthy of ANY ice time at all. Thank God those days are over.
