The difference is that Toews, Malkin, and the Sedins used those minutes to crush their opposition in puck possession. When both Sedins were on the ice, the Canucks controlled 59.9% of all shot attempts. When Toews and Kane were on the ice, the Blackhawks took 59.2% of all shot attempts. Malkin and Neal? 58.0%.
Nugent-Hopkins spent more ice time with Eberle than anyone else, and when RNH+Eberle were on the ice, despite cushy offensive minutes against lesser competition, they
