'Prospect Capital' baby. Cultivate each prospect as much as possible and let them grow together, i.e., the LA Kings. Once you have your developed core, you can peddle prospects on the verge of the NHL into experienced, star veteran players like Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and... Dustin Penner. Haha.

This has to be the approach and it will be the approach. It should take three years if things go at a conservative rate. It could be two years if these players, combined with players like Eller, Pacioretty, Subban, etc, gel together and reach their ceilings.

People say the lockout is good for the Habs, well, its good for all NHL teams, particularly teams that have traditionally rushed their youth like Columbus and the Islanders. So I would not say that the Habs have benefited too, too much. Although, the fact that our young Bulldogs are forced to play against near NHL level competition, is very good for their second years in the pro game.
