Sadly this is not accurate.
Giacomin had a better GAA in the playoffs 2.81 vs Esposito's 3.07 so Giacomin by this metric was better than Tony Esposito.
As you can see from the link:
was 8 games
a .500 W/L % which happens to be the league average for the playoffs so Esposito actually failed to outperform the league average.
Toss-up between the two for the worst.
