Wade Boggs had his worst statistical season in Boston in 1992. I saw it first hand. The stats actually make him look better than he was.
When they Yankees acquired him, it was frowned upon.
The minute he came to NY, however, he was a changed player. You can argue that Boggs was the most valuable hitter in the Yankees lineups from 1993-1996.
I dont care what Ichiro did for his last half season in Seattle. He clearly stepped his game up when he came to New York, and if he struggles offensively, you can always flip flop he and Gardner from the top of the lineup to the bottom.
