The NFL has 32 teams to the 30 in the NHL, the geographical distribution is only marginally smaller because they have no Canadian teams, and they have that great tv deal at least in part BECAUSE they have parity and thus get watched everywhere. Also, nobody spends more than Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones and those two franchises are a joke as far as NFL success is concerned.
