Just because, overall, a team is bad against the run doesn't mean that they will fail to stop the run in certain situations where a run is obvious. You can have the worst defense in the league, but if you are playing against a predictable offense you can be successful in certain situations. And that is just what the Giants have been in the Red Zone this year: predictable. That is why they rank 21st in the league in that category- right along with Jacksonville (20th), the Jets (22nd), and San Diego (23rd). You can't go far in the playoffs if your RZ touchdown percentage is worse than non-playoff teams. And you can't blame only the players, and you can't blame only Eli because this has been a problem for Coughlin's teams since he took over. His teams have finished only once in the last 10 years in RZ touchdown percentage.
