Yes, everything has been part of a calculated strategy. However, I'm a no nonsense type of guy so I get extremely frustrated seeing that neither side ever had any intention to reach a deal until the last possible moment. Why couldn't the NHL tell the Union they're not going to putz around and put the end game on the table in Sept else the season's gone? Instead, we're stuck having to endure a "drive to Abilene" when no one really wanted to go there. Four -five months of strutting and spitting at each other based on the premise that the best deal always happens at the 11th hour.
NHL, the Fed Budget, politics, NBA, etc.. All decided via brinksmanship. It's a wonder anything gets done these days.
Cripes, do we really have to mimic pregnancy and childbirth? (If that's indeed the PA's actual end game. We shall see.....)
