I always say to everybody who asks me... theres 3 keys to do it.
Cardio, nutrition and weight training. Pick 2/3 if you want to get in shape. If you do 3/3 it's even better and results come in no time.
As for me I despise cardio, I almost never do it. When I cut I do some HIIT because I get it over with fast. To keep my heart healthy and get it pumping I like to to supersets and even tri-sets
