It may very well cheapen Intellectual Property, but that's only worth what you can sell it for anyway. If you make more $$$ selling gobs of copies under $20 then that's better for the company.

But if EA was opposed to these types of sales then they never should have opened Origin as a storefront in the first place. They'll never compete as a distribution platform without them. The only thing it does is bring all the EA games into one platform, which they already had anyway.
