Perreault was solid for us when the team was significantly weaker. He is also one heck of a faceoff man. This being said: I would not sign Perreault and there are a couple reasons why.

1) Our young guns are emerging (Plekanec and Chipchura) and Perreault would just take ice-time away from those guys.

2) People that draw comparisons parallels between Bonk and Perreault seem to have very little memory. Yes Perreault scored some goals, and yes he was excellent on faceoffs, however Bonk is so much stronger along the boards and his defensive awareness is much better than Yannick's.

3) Faceoffs have been an issue this year as far as I'm concerned and signing ONE specialist will not address this issue. With Carbo as coach, I expect that our centers will be much better at taking draws and players will be more cohesive as a unit on draws.

Yannick did his time and Im sure he will find a taker somewhere out there, but seeing as our team is moving forward and has depth coming up, I would not jeopardize our future in the sake of memory or past allegiance.
