Is that going to happen by the end of this tournament? NO! If it's a question of, 'Do I want a Gold medal from diving or a Silver medal from clean play' then it's a no-brainer. I look back to the Summit Series in 1972 with Bobby Clarke's slash to Kharlamov that was responsible for Canada winning the Summit Series. Well that is 1000X worse than a dive. And that Series is regarded as the defining moment of Canadian hockey, and to some, Bobby Clarke is considered a hero.
It's also a drain on Canadian hockey that won't go away. What's the first that comes up when that series is mentioned? Exactly.
