This is an ego war at this point.
The loser is the one at the end who 'accepts' the previous offer given without pushing back.
This latest offer by the NHL is a step in the right direction, and the players could easily accept it and start the season. When Fehr pushes back, the NHL will get *****y again and back off from negotiations.
It has to get to a point where both sides feel they aren't 'losing' anything and once both can agree they've made an even amount of concessions, there will be a deal.
