Yeah, I'm with JTG. My definition of PP quarterback is the guy the power play runs through. Regardless of where that is on the ice. The guy who directs the traffic, who controls the setup. It doesn't always have to be at the top of the circles. Mario definitely was the guy who ran our PP in the past. Coffey certainly collaborated upon his arrival, and it was a dual role.

Also, when we used the five forwards PP in the late 90s-early 00s, it ran through Kovalev at the point.

With Malkin and Crosby on this roster, do we really need to invest in a classic PP quarterback defenseman?
