In the league's latest offer, the NHLPA was provided a target date of Jan. 11 to complete a deal. That deadline would allow teams to have a week for training camp before the puck drops on Jan. 19 in what would be a 48-game season.
I certainly miss hockey. It makes up most of my entertainment budget for the year but am I the only one that doesn't like the way this sounds? One week of camp?? How many guys are going to be completely out of shape? How many injuries will we see early on? I don't want to pay for half a season of bad hockey. At this point I'd rather they cancel the season and put a system in place that gives every team a fair chance to be successful with solid revenue sharing and an intelligent cap/salary structure.
