I think it's gotta be Edler.

This is one case where "just starting out" is irrelevant. It's not about body of work. It's about who shows (or showed) the most skill in this area.

For me, Edler over Jovo and it's not even close. Jovanovski was a player with all of the physical tools but was a dumb hockey player. Not great hockey sense, and not a great passer. But could skate like the wind. Edler combines carrying the puck really well with some amazing breakaway passes. So for me it's Edler and it's not even close.

I only saw Ellet near the end of his career (94-on) and wouldn't have said he was even close to Edler at that point either. If people say he was a great puck mover in Winnipeg I have no firsthand knowledge to dispute that. That said, I would be surprised if he was as good of a puck mover as Edler.
