It looks realy bad when there are no fans sitting right behind the glass, so I hope they will change that. At the same time, I've sat behind the glass at a number of hockey games, but I see it more as a punishment than privilege. You may get to see the pimples on the hockey players' faces clearly, but the sense of watching the game develop is gone. Whenever I sat behind the glass, I had to re-watch the goal situations later on TV when I got back home, because sitting behind the glass, everything seems to happen so fast you barely have time to register what's going on in the big picture.

I just hate both of those extremes, "behind the glass" and "VIP lounge". They are both supposed to be privileges, but in fact they're not. Sitting under the roof so that players look like ants is supposed to be "VIP treatment"? No way. Give me 8th row on the red line over the VIP lounge anytime -- that's the true VIP location for a hockey fan.
