Yeah, that's not a terrible comparison.
Defensively, he's a very smart player. Plays in all situations for the Attack and it's a pretty rare occurrence to see him out of position. He's gaining confidence in his physical game. Once he starts getting stronger, that aspect of his game could make gains.
Offensively, he creates off the rush. He definitely has good puck skill. He's not exactly a burner, but he picks good spots to pinch and can make forecheckers miss allowing him to gain access to the zone. I'd like to see him start to take even more chances. His shot isn't very heavy, and he's not a big "shooter," in that sense that he likes to let it rip. I don't see him carrying over much goal scoring ability to the next level. His ability to control the point on the powerplay is also still progressing, particularly as team's take away passing lanes, forcing him to shoot. As his shot develops, so will his ability to run the powerplay.
Think of him as a similar prospect to the likes of Matt Finn and Stuart Percy in recent years. So the Gorges comparison isn't terrible.
