His points per game decreased so it was obvious that his offence was fading.

The REAL problem is that post lockout the lack of clutching and grabbing from the forwards not slowing down opposing forwards exposed Redden as VERY slow, poor positioning and weak in front and in the corners.

When you would rather have Eminger at any salary level over Redden it says alot about how far the player has fallen in terms of his on ice ability.

I will say this, Redden, should he choose, has a career behind the bench waiting for him. He seems like a smart guy and he's gone from elite to less than that in a pretty quick period so he knows both sides of that coin. There's not alot of guys that have been so (un)lucky to have experienced such a drastic change so quickly.

It's humbling and it forces you to evaluate EVERYTHING about your career.
