Bettman says the process will be continuing tomorrow morning. Mediator Scot Beckenbaugh asked them to get back together at 10 am.

Bettman: "As long as the process continues I am hopeful." He also says the word disclaimer has never been uttered by the NHLPA to the NHL.

Bettman says the mediator was present all day. He says it was a joint request by the parties. "Can't hurt," he says.

Bettman says the pension plan is a very complicated issue, "but that is something we understand is important to the players."

Difficult for either Fehr or Bettman to discuss specifics with Federal Mediator present. Discretion is key when they are involved.
