Why would you be so resolute in your belief that Hamrlik AND Peca would not be traded? You don't see those empty seats on TV? You ignoring the grumbling owner or all of the signs pointing to another "Mad Mike" episode (you know, the ones where he gets a little crazy trying to keep his job so he cleans house yet again)?

This is totally predictable IMHO, so I don't know why you would have such certainty that two expensive, tradeable players wouldn't be dealt in the same season. And don't think for a second that Milbury doesn't have an Oleg Kvasha hard-on for Alex Svitov.

You watch, a few more losses to darken an otherwise dark winter on LI and Mad Mike will poke his head up with a Hamrlik-for-Svitov deal straight up. He'll call Svitov one of the best prospects in the game and talk about how the Isles had enough top dmen to dump one and losing Harmlik's salary will help the bottom line. Then, MM will be able to focus on lowering payroll further and continuing to remake the roster by dealing off an expensive but tradeable forward.

Not fact, not really even a prediction, just saying it's all possible. ***** rolls downhill when an owner is pissed about his bottom line.
