The hardcore fans would show up to watch ice freeze. I'm talking about the average fans who OCCASIONALLY buy the tickets, occasionally buy the crap, buy the concessions, buy CI, and read the Dispatch.
I also wonder what our lovely HF here will be like. In the past, we cared too much. If we get a shortened season, and suck out of the gate, we'll probably just view it as a JOKE* year, and wait until next year to put our wretched hearts and overbearing arguments back into it.
Of course, even a JOKE* YEAR could be interesting.
(*"Joke" or "Developing the young guys" or "building team chemistry" ...however the front office decides to spin it.)
If any team wins the fans will be there... A 48 game season will be a boon for all 30 teams but the teams with a solid minor league program should excel... It will be a cheap cup for the winner but as many have said, a cup is a cup... The Jackets should be good based on what is going on in the minors, this could be an opportunity of a lifetime for the CBJ... they need to be ready.. I can't wait to see their defense.....and Johansen...
