Thornton takes 30 goal scorers in Cheecho and makes them Richard winners. Look at Glen Murrays production without Thornton. He was a journeyman before being paired with Joe, then scored 40+ goals a couple times with him, talked of as an elite sniper, now no Joe production drops by 20 goals almost back to the level he was at before.

So saying that Thornton has had better wingers than Lecavalier is not exactly true.

As far as best Player in the World Cup for Canada, that was very debateable, as Joe also had a hell of a World Cup, followed by a great World Championships later that year (lockout year).

Sure Lecavalier was great for one series in 04, well Joe played some good hockey for SJ vs Nashville this year, and in the first couple games vs Edmonton.
