When Seals regular goalies Gilles Meloche and Marv Edwards went down with injuries in the disastrous 73-74 season, the team brought up minor-league Bob Champoux, who had previously played a total of one NHL game for Detroit in the 63-64 playoffs.

I did get to see one of his appearances when my Seals came to the Nassau Coliseum. The other goalie was Ted Tucker who I knew from reading The Hockey News cover-to-cover and boy was he surprised to hear someone yelling out his name as the team was coming up the ramp to take the ice.
