Phillips has been taken out by a faster, quicker league. His skillset was good enough and his body big enough to stay ahead of the junior hockey pace. Now he's too slow in all areas of the game to be a factor, and his size isn't special anymore. Good hands mean nothing when you never have the time or space to use them.

I wouldn't be surprised if he never becomes an NHL regular. I think we have a big bust on our hands.
