At least with Koko he hasn't made the mistake of coming out and telling the public (Spits fans) what he expects to get out of the trade. If he says he expects X and a team offers him Y, he can't very well accept Y because it will piss off the fans because they were promised X. If he keeps his yap shut and a team offers him Y, he can take it and call it X.
